Mentorship: Sharing Knowledge, Growing Together
Mentorship: Sharing Knowledge, Growing Together
Mentorship is at the heart of the Regional Unity Initiative. Large, experienced chapters are paired with smaller or newer chapters, creating a network where knowledge, guidance, and support flow both ways.
Through mentorship, veteran members get the chance to lead and leave a lasting legacy, while newer members gain resources, confidence, and practical advice for competitions, chapter organization, and leadership development.
Mentorship doesn’t just help chapters succeed, it builds connections, fosters collaboration, and strengthens Florida DECA as a whole.
Collaboration Events: Learning, Connecting, and Having Fun
RUI collaboration events give members opportunities to connect across chapters and districts in fun, engaging ways. From creative challenges to team-building activities, pickleball tournaments, and social gatherings, these events are designed to strengthen relationships, boost teamwork, and foster a sense of belonging.
These events also provide members with hands-on leadership and collaboration experience, encouraging them to communicate effectively, solve problems together, and celebrate each other’s successes.
In short, collaboration events are where DECA members turn connections into community, and community into lasting impact
Virtual Workshops: Learning From Anywhere
The RUI includes bi-monthly virtual Zoom workshops designed to give members practical, real-world skills. These sessions cover topics like:
Competition strategies from top ICDC competitors
Resume-building and professional development
Leadership skills and teamwork strategies
Workshops ensure that every member has access to the tools and guidance they need, no matter where their chapter is located. They are interactive, hands-on, and provide opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and grow alongside peers from across the state.
Networking: Building Connections That Last
Networking is a key part of the RUI, giving members the chance to connect with peers, mentors, and leaders across Florida DECA. Whether it’s through virtual discussions, workshop breakout rooms, or collaboration events, students can:
Share experiences and tips
Build friendships and professional relationships
Learn from the successes of others
By fostering these connections, members gain confidence, develop leadership skills, and become part of a statewide DECA community that supports them both personally and academically. light or space.
